October 23 & 24, 2026 (Fri, Sat) - Zoo Boo at Central Coast Zoo (formerly named Charles Paddock Zoo) from 4:30PM - 7:30PM. ♥ San Luis Obispo Mom Favorite! - I've been to the event before! See my instagram video when I took my kids to Zoo Boo in the past. Get your best costume ready and bring the entire family out to a not-too-scary evening at Zoo Boo! You can expect Halloween decorations throughout the Zoo, carnival games, a costume contest, Halloween-themed activities, a haunted maze, and tricks & treats to enjoy! There is a fee for this event. October 24, 2026 (Sat) - Pumpkins in the Park at Dinosaurs Cave Park in Pismo Beach from 10AM - 1PM. ♥ San Luis Obispo Mom Favorite! - I've been to the event before! See a picture on my instagram when I went to Pumpkins in the Park event in the past. Free entry event. Pumpkin Decorating! Activities include: food & beverage available, costume contest, games, crafts & bounce houses. The downtown Trick or Treating will start from 12PM to 2PM in conjunction/or following this event (trick or treating is not at Dinosaur Caves Park). October 24, 2026 (Sat) - Paso Robles Dia de los Muertos Festival from 10AM - 7PM in Paso Robles. Free admission. Vendors, food, kids zone, family shrines, awards, dancers, music and arts/crafts. Address: Spring St &, 12th St., Paso Robles, CA 93446
October 30, 2026 (Fri) - Annual Trunk or Treat at 16th Park from 5PM - Dark in Grover Beach.
♥ San Luis Obispo Mom Favorite! - I've been to the event before! In the past, this event would be at Ramona Park but last year because Ramona Park was under construction, they had it at 16th Park and it looks like the city is going to keep it at 16th Park from their website (The City of Grover Beach website doesn't load if you are on a VPN. I don't think they know this!) This trunk or treat event for families is a great opportunity to get into the Halloween spirit and enjoy some fun and safe trick-or-treating. It's a great way to spend an afternoon with the whole family and create some great memories.
They don't have a bounce house there every year so I am not sure if they'll have it this year. However, one time, they actually had one. See the picture that I took below for that year.

October 31, 2026 (Sat) - Mission Plaza Dia De Los Muertos 2026 on Halloween Day in Downtown SLO from 11AM - 3PM hosted by Latino Outreach Council. There will be dancers, mariachis, costume, face painting, and traditional altars. Address for GPS: 989 Chorro Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401
October TBD, 2026 - SLO Elks Annual Haunted House. Free community event. Brave souls will wander through haunted halls, encounter eerie surprises, and test their courage… if you have the guts. Not ready to face the frights? No worries! We’ve got a Kids Maze, carnival games, candy, and treats for the little goblins and ghouls. Address: 222 Elks Lane San Luis Obispo, CA 93401
October TBD, 2026 (TBD) - Boo Bash at Meadow Park from 4PM - 8PM. Free entry event. Join the Parks & Recreation Department for a family friendly Boo Bash. Bring the family for games, a photo booth, food trucks, a movie, and a haunted house. A sensory-free Haunted House will open from 4–4:30 p.m. and a lights-on-kid-friendly experience will begin at 4:30 p.m. The real scares begin in the Haunted House from 5:30 p.m. and run until darkness descends on the park. This event is FREE and open to the public. The Food Bank Coalition of SLO County will be collecting canned food and participants who are able are encouraged to bring one or more items to donate. There will be a contests for kids and dogs — bring your best look and show it off! Grab your treat bags, wear your costumes, and come ready for a fang-tastic Halloween night! List of Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes and Farms in San Luis Obispo County with Pumpkins
- Avila Valley Barn has pumpkins during the fall season starting mid-september and also offers hayrides for a cost. You can visit farm animals for free! See pictures that I've taken at Avila Valley Barn on this blog post. This barn is open year round and attracts a lot of tourists. Parking is free and you can even shop at their market for produce, desserts and toys. They also have some lunch options from their bbq.

Avila Valley Barn Address: 560 Avila Beach Dr, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405 - The Pumpkin Patch in Edna Valley usually starts selling pumpkins in mid-September from 9AM - 5PM. Opening date is TBD. They also have a corn maze (costs money). I especially love coming here because you have the option to pick pumpkins and cut them straight from the vine on their farm!

They also usually have night mazes here during the weekends of October, in addition to pumpkins. Address: 4747 Los Osos Valley Rd, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405

- River "K" Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze usually opens in Paso Robles for October. Free parking, free entry, no dogs allowed. According to their instagram, they prefer to take cash. Address: 5670 N River Rd, Paso Robles, CA 93446
- Jack Creek Farms usually has pumpkins in the fall for October and their hours change by the season. They have been named one of the top 30 pumpkin patches in U.S.A. by Yelp. Address: Jack Creek Farms, 5000 CA-46, Templeton, CA 93465
- SLO Ranch Market Newest to this list is SLO Ranch Market.
For 2026 in late September and all of October, they should be having pumpkins there daily. Address: 851 Froom Ranch Way, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405 - SLO Creek Farms is usually open in the fall.
Besides for pumpkins during the fall season, they also have fresh flowers and other fruits that you can pick yourself throughout the year. It's a beautiful farm for a photo opportunity. Address: 6455 Monte Rd., San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 - Chesebrough Farm Family Fun usually has dozens of varieties of pumpkins and winter squash and in the past, they are open to the public starting Oct 1 through Oct 31 every day from 10AM - 6PM. However, according to their website, it is outdated and they don't have an instagram so please double check local resources before arriving to make sure they are going to be open for 2026. - Willow Pumpkin Patch usually opens in October. Among this list of pumpkin patches in San Luis Obispo County, they usually announce their opening for the season the latest of the bunch. They suggest a parking donation to park there. Address: Willow Rd & Hetrick Ave., Nipomo, CA 93444
- Tar Creek Ranch is located in AG and took a bit of a drive through the rural part. I was impressed with how many kids' activities they had in the past but, they have not been open to the public for the fall for a few years and now only focuses on event planning for private parties.
